What is the largest wedding reception the Center is able to accommodate?

Our grand ballroom can comfortably accommodate up to 650 seated guests with a dance floor and band.

May I host both my ceremony and reception at the Center?

One of the best attributes of the Gaillard Center is it’s the perfect place to host both your ceremony and reception for up to 400 guests.

Are you able to accommodate my religious ceremony?

Yes, we specialize in ceremonies for all religions and cultures and are happy to assist you with your needs.

May I have an outdoor ceremony?

Yes, we have a lovely terrace lawn available for rental. The space may tented to allow for weather.

What is the color scheme of the ballrooms?

The ballroom is decorated in white, wedgwood blue, silver and cream.

Do you allow decorations and are there sound restrictions?

Yes, we allow decor. Nothing is allowed to be hung on the walls. Candles must be in a covered/closed vessel. There are sound limitations on the terrace.

May I bring my own florist?

Yes, you can select your own florist. They will need to coordinate delivery with your event management team.

What is included in the rental of the venue?

We include: (115) 60″ round tables, (225) 6′ conference tables, (52) 6′ tables, (15) 4′ tables and (20) cocktail height tables with a cherry wood top, (918) padded chairs, (60) bar-stools. Inventory availability is subject additional events in the building. No furniture is allowed outside.

Do you have wedding packages?

Please contact the sales office and we can assist you in creating a custom package.

Do you offer on-site catering?

Yes! Our on-site, exclusive food and beverage team will work with you to plan the perfect menu for your wedding reception.

May I bring my own alcohol?

No, we provide complete beverage service for all events. Please contact our catering sales manager for package options.

Am I able to bring my own wedding cake?

A wedding cake may be provided by a licensed bakery, although cutting fees may apply.

Is there weather back up for my outdoor ceremony?

Yes, there are options based on which space you rent.

Are there floor plans available?

Yes, we are able to provide customized drawings for your event.

Do I need a certificate of insurance?

Yes, you will be required to have a certificate of insurance. If you need assistance with purchasing insurance, please let us know. You may purchase event insurance through the Gaillard Center.

Do you require an Event Coordinator or Wedding Planner?

Yes, we require a qualified Event Coordinator be present during the event. For weddings we require the client hire a qualified, licensed wedding planner. The planner may not be someone who is attending the wedding as a guest or part of the wedding party. We are happy to provide a list of approved wedding planners/coordinators for you.

May I reserve time for my ceremony rehearsal the day before my event?

We will do our best to accommodate rehearsal times. We will confirm a rehearsal time as we get closer to your date. Your event manager will assist you with these arrangements.

Will the event manager be present to oversee my reception to the end?

You will be assigned an event manager who oversees event space set up. If you would like to have a wedding planner or day of coordinator to oversee event details, please ask us for local recommendations.

Will I be offered a bridal suite?

Yes, for weddings in our Grand Ballroom we provide a complimentary salon for use during your event (based on availability).

Where do my guests park?

We have an onsite parking at the city’s Gaillard Center garage with 600 parking spaces. We are able to offer all events discounted parking fees.

Where may my guests find overnight accommodations?

There are a number of hotels within walking distance of the Gaillard Center. The Around Charleston link at the bottom of the page provides information on local hotels, restaurants and area attractions.
