The Charleston Gaillard Center continues to place patron safety as our first priority. After consultation with tours, artists, and healthcare officials, we have implemented safety protocols at all shows in the Martha and John M. Rivers Performance Hall, beginning with the Lowcountry Jazz Festival, September 3-5, 2021.
Safety protocols will include:
All staff, volunteers, and patrons aged three years and older will be fully masked, except when eating or drinking.
All staff, volunteers, and patrons aged three years and older will need to provide proof of full vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours. Patrons 18 years of age and older must also bring a photo ID.
The Gaillard Center will continue to monitor guidelines from the CDC and our local health partners for the latest public health innovations. We will update these procedures as recommendations from public health officials evolve.
We encourage patrons to assist in preventing the spread of any illness by thoroughly and carefully washing your hands regularly, staying home if you have a fever, cough, or other symptoms, and monitoring local news for advice about keeping yourself and loved ones safe in case of an outbreak.
Proof of full vaccination can be in the form of paper vaccination card, printed photocopy of vaccination card, or photo of vaccination card on a mobile device. The vaccination card must show 14 days have passed since final dose of vaccine. Patrons should also bring a photo ID.
While patrons aged 3 to 17 will be required to provide proof of full vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours, they will not be required to show a photo ID.
Only a PCR test or a rapid test will be accepted as proof of a negative COVID-19 test. An at-home COVID-19 test will not be accepted. Proof of antibodies following a positive COVID-19 test are accepted. To document, there must be a dated positive COVID-19 test at least 10 days prior to the event, but no more than 90 days prior to the event. The positive test must be provided by a third-party testing location, such as a doctor, pharmacy, or lab facility, and include the patron’s name and date of the positive test. At home test results will not be accepted. Patrons should also bring a photo ID.
Find a testing location on S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control’s website here.
Anyone three years of age or older attending a performance at the Charleston Gaillard Center will need to show either proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. Children under the age of 18 will not need to show a photo ID. Patrons two years of age and under will not be required to be masked or provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.
