The Charleston Gaillard Center’s Education Initiative is dedicated to the providing children with classes focused on arts education. We offer classes during our season for students from ages 6-14. Learning the art of theatre can help youth in all areas of life by building confidence while strongly encouraging students to think and work differently.
Beginning Acting

A class designed for the curious child who is interested in creating, pretending and playing. Throughout the six-week class, students discover the fundamentals of performance through engaging games that explore how to use your voice and movement to create fun characters. The class culminates with a showcase of original performances for invited family and friends.
Improv Troupe

Students discover and build their improvisation skills while learning a myriad of different improv games. Throughout this six-week course, students create their own ensemble-based improv troupe that they will showcase to family and friends at the final class.
